NIGH's mandate is to increase global public awareness about the priority of health and to empower nurses to be stronger advocates for the deep needs of the world. We continue to create innovative approaches to accomplish these goals. These include:

ONE — focusing on critical global health issues, including maternal & child health —

TWO — remembering Florence Nightingale's relevance for the 21st century —

THREE — developing websites & social marketing with global outreach —

FOUR — collaborating to create videos & related presentations to share.

Our growing team of dedicated volunteers serve the worldwide nursing community by — co-founding the "2010 International Year of the Nurse" — participating in key meetings, discussions & presentations around the world — co-hosting workshops to nurture & empower nurses with new capacities — writing online & print articles, books & continuing education formats — advocating for health issues at the United Nations, with NIGH's "UN DPI Status." In all of our efforts, we seek to build a grassroots-to-global network of like-heart, mind & spirit — all working toward achieving "a healthy world by 2020" the Bicentennial of Nightingale's birth.
