Call for action now by UN General Assembly to mobilize public opinion to support ECOSOC declaration Print E-mail

An international movement of nurses individually committed to global health is calling upon the United Nations General Assembly to act in mobilizing world public opinion to support the Millennium Development Goals and now, the "Internationally Agreed Goals and Commitments in regard to Global Public Health" which the UN Economic and Social Council has recently declared with  "unwavering resolve to implement".

A call for action by the UN General Assembly to mobilize public opinion "for the health of nations" came recently in New York from the Conference of Non-Governmental Organizations in an international Forum  on "Threats to the Health and Sustainable Development of Nations."  The forum was held on 15 and 16 October 2009.
